You know the situation when sometimes a small decision could influence your entire future? Well, that’s what happened to me when I decided to pursue EVMT as my major. I started out as a Business student who loves the idea of environment and sustainability but was never good at science stuff. It was a then-EVMT student who told me I should go and take a look at the EVMT major. Guess what? I totally found my dream here – an Environmental-based major with ideas coming from business minds.
At first, I was still skeptical about whether I could fit in or whether I could manage the level of “chur”-ness here, but as an EVMT student, I can tell you – that is hardly worth worrying about. The Division, along with its professors and staff are extremely helpful in helping you settle down and going through the 4 most important years of your life (yet), and with such small groups of classmates, you will feel right at home from the start. EVMT is designed to let us learn and experience situations first-hand so we won’t just memorize it, but understand the knowledge such that we can apply it to real-life situations. Our major emphasizes on applied learning where in-class learning and assignments are used as a tool to grasp the concept, while internship opportunities and projects are platforms where we can apply the stuff that you learnt in real-life. That would also be the key for your future career path.
All-in-all, if you are interested in sustainability and environmental issues, why not give it a try? Just remember – the key to success is to grasp the opportunity when you see it, trust me – you don’t want to regret not choosing EVMT afterwards XD.
