Talk about sustainability has never been so fervent, and the trend is taking over the world with overwhelming speed. Although I have only completed my first year of study, EVMT has benefitted me in many ways. Through opportunities like site visits, overseas field trips, and sustainability conferences, I have witnessed current technologies and the exchange of ideas in the professional world, sparking some of my own. Through ENVR courses, I am urged to think holistically, exploring environmental issues on a much broader and more complex spectrum. Being more of a science student in secondary school, I am challenged to step out of my comfort zone by learning more business and engineering concepts. I believe this equips me to stand in the environmental field because ‘environment’ inherently involves everything—the natural environment, social environment and business environment, and understanding a bit of every field prepares me to link different parties to work together towards a better, more sustainable world.
